What a year... What a year it was indeed. Well, I'm back from the Western Cape now. Had almost 6 weeks of holiday, and lost half the photos I took there, thanks to my external harddrive crashing ( I only had a laptop and the harddrive with me, so backing up was impossible). It feels quite unreal losing so much work, I don't think it has quite sinked in yet. I'm awaiting the aftershock...

Anyway. I'm proud to announce that I am now the owner of a Canon EOS 5D! Boy, what a camera that is! I bought it second hand, and it's still in mint condition! So December in the Cape of Good Hope was indeed the perfect place to test it out! I will be submitting a few photos of the next couple of days, along with doing a few major updates to my website. All this before starting college again in February.

So armed with my 5D, my 17-40mm F4 L, a tripod, a polarizer and a 0.8 ND Grad filter I went to places like the R44 Coastal Road, Gordon's Bay, Stellenbosch, Betty's Bay and Muizenberg. If only I had the photos to show.. Looks like I'll be going back in March.

This past weekend I embarked on a journey to Botswana! First time out of South Africa for me. I'll submit the photos as soon as I'm done editing them.

I've decided to come back to Deviant Art yet again... My mind seems to be going in between decisions.. So I'll give dA a try again..
I'll spare you all a melodramatic autistic rabble of how my personal life needs to come first bla bla bla (this kind of thing seems to be a very common trait in the common dA user)
The point of the matter is this...I don't care. Quite simply put really..But let's not deviate(pun intended) from why I posted this journal. I have been editing & submitting landscape photos on an uncalibrated laptop monitor (Bad Fred! I shall now go on punishing myself with *like a rock or something). I'll update the new versions here on dA as I finish them on my computer there at my house.

So please note if you see a highly purple or reddish image know that it was the laptop...not me.
